When the Moon is Too Much

(written under the harvest supermoon)

it can all feel like too much,

this body of endless possibility.

noisy body

heartful body

body of aches and jubilation

body that doesn't always know

what it means to nurture

in a world that's always looking

beyond self

beyond one

beyond the moon.

how do you trust the moon when it feels like too much?

how do you navigate depths, curves, cracked places,

all those messages

that you are, in some form,

lacking in your muchness?

listen to the wounds of mother moon:

be too much.

be receptive.

be open.

be protected.

be light beyond light.

illuminate for water that belongs to oceans and bodies.

illuminate for insects weeping under night sky.

be song.

be movement.

be silence.

be sound.

be still.

from the intensity of bright

into the retreat of darkness,

remember

you belong

you belong

in each and every phase

of your beautiful life.
